RUF

RUF's fundamental position in the automotive world is unusual: it is a manufacturer that uses Porsche bodyshells as raw material. The body is procured as an unstamped blank before it enters Porsche's production system, and from that point forward every mechanical component is RUF-sourced, RUF-engineered, and RUF-assembled. The resulting vehicle carries a RUF VIN.

The CTR Yellowbird established this philosophy in the most dramatic way possible. In 1987, an unknown family business from a Bavarian village produced the fastest production car in the world — and the world's automotive press had never heard of them. That demonstration of what focused engineering can achieve without factory resources remains the animating spirit of everything RUF builds.
